Buzzing noise on headset plugged in Xbox one controller (pc)

I got this new steelseries headset and was loving it using it with a xbox one controller on pc everything was fine till one day the power went out on the whole neighborhood and when it came back my headset was making this weird noise like static or buzzing sound when i listen to anything when i plug the headset directly into the pc the problem goes away however the sound volume and quality goes way down since this headset was made for console.

Any solution on how i can use the headset with the controller and make the noise go away ?

There was an issue with having a controller plugged in with the play and charge kit (so it's charging) that caused everyone to hear a buzzing noise if a headset was also plugged in to the controller.

Could this be it?

I prefer wireless controller and wired headset, but I do not recommend using a wired controller and a wired headset. Some headsets will make a weird buzzing noise when plugged into a wired controller. And also, same goes for plugging your wireless controller
into your console to charge a battery pack.

unfortunately i don't have an extra controller but like i said this only started happening when the power went off/on in the whole house before that i had no issues

I appreciate the update. If you have a different Xbox controller that we can try to use that would be great because the issue may be the controller since it's working jus fine while connected on your PC but still, we need to isolate the issue further.
