Buying Vbucks with Microsoft Xbox balance

This is a post for parents like me; who need to buy vbucks or battle pass for their child.

None of the other posts are helpful, or even directly address the problem.

So, here is how to buy vbucks using a balance you have on your childs xbox account.

If your child’s account has restrictions, and they try to buy vbucks, it will send notification to the parent account for the purchase,

on the approval screen, it says “you need to add money to your childs account for this purchase.”

so most parents will probably do that, and add $20 or whatever to the kids account.

once you do that, and go back into the game to buy the vbucks, there is NO OPTION for payment from the account. Only a credit card or paypal.

the solution: DON’T try to buy within the game itself.

exit the fortnite game on xbox.

on the childs account , go to “store” on the xbox.

search store for vbucks

select the amount you want

when payment pops up, the first option is “microsoft balance”.

complete transaction

log back into the fortnite with the childs account

then they will see that amount of vbucks and can purchase their battlepass, or whatever.
