    Buying used console

    The IP address wouldn't make a difference. It's best to buy new or make sure you can return it if there is an issue. Even if it's not banned when you first get it, you don't know if the previous owner did anything that could have it banned.

    Online Service Center     while signed-in to see if it has a warranty up. Regardless of the whether or not the console is under warranty, the page will give you your options for a repair.

    not worth it. never know whats could go wrong with it including being a banned xbox. just save up the money or try and get one for xmas.

    You could buy a used console and hook it up to Live and it connects okay, but if that console was flashed to play backup then restored to its original firmware, then it could be flagged for a ban which may happen weeks/months later. Best to buy a brand
    new console.
