Buying something on Xbox.com using MS Points/Credit

Excited to see that the Citadel DLC for Mass Effect 3 was finally on sale, I rushed to Xbox.com to pick it up using some of the MS Credit (formerly known as points) I'd been saving for just that purchase. I click the purchase button on the site and a window
pops up asking me to select my payment option. I don't see my balance or anything else about store credit anywhere. Foolishly--blinded by excitement--I hit the order button regardless; Xbox.com will probably just pull from my available balance by default,
I reason.

It looks like my CC's been billed for $8 that I didn't really have to spend. Did I just completely miss something here, or does this site actually not allow me to use my
official MS credit for purchases? I don't have access to my console on the go, and I know that Xbox.com used to have the functionality I'm expecting from it here.

So...can you really not buy Xbox Live with Microsoft points?!

Nah bing points convert into MS points, unless they are straight up trying to use bing points. The last time i tried to buy something i think was when black ops went backwards compat, and i had to go over to a friends place to use his xbox 360 to make the purchase with my points.

But i swore they said they were fixing that with the store so i could use credit. I'm not sure which way they are trying, that's the down side is people buy from xbox one, xbox.com or xbox 360 and they all seem to handle it differently so it can get confusing as to which way they are trying.

I haven't tried to use credits since that blops 1 purchase on my xbox one or xbox.com so i can't say if those two work.

Whenever I try to use the Paypal option (I have set it up through xbox.com) I get a stupid message something saying you can only use MS points for this transaction... buying points with points wtf

 

The website has not been updated to work with the new currency system yet. You can only use that option on the console at the moment.

I'm a bit disappointed, but glad to have it figured out.

 

I hope thi feature comes back as soon as possible. I dont want a credit card tied to my account. never
