  1. Buying New Xbox Controller has No Warranty of it's own

I recently brought a brand new controller for christmas, which inevitably broke today. I however didn't buy the controller from a Microsoft store near by (Out of my state). I know that xbox has a
90 day replacement warranty for controllers. As I tried to register the controller which was extremely hard to find, due to you
having to link an xbox. As I found my son's xbox is out of date, I was going to be
charged a full $63 just to get a new controller. I wonder why this may be because I remembered you could once register the controller itself and get a free controller after sending the controller in (As long as it was in warranty). This is
no longer the case as it seems. Is there anybody to tell me something I did wrong, or am I screwed out of $60, and have to pay another $60 to fix my son's gift? What really pisses me off, is that I don't even get the army white colored controller, just a old
basic black controller that came with the console.

    :)

Might want to consider buying a new xbox if it's no longer under warranty.

  3. My controllers left stick drifts and its response is slow.

The controllers only have a 90 day warranty (it may be different if you live in the EU). You can try to
schedule a repair, but you may end up buying a new controller anyway.

You're pretty much left to your own devices at this point.

It's not the answer you'd like to hear, but these are your only options left for an out-of-warranty controller.

    Controller Differences

If you buy a new controller, please get one from a retailer that has a warranty that you can buy for it. Xbox only has a 90 day warranty on the controller. I think walmart has an extended warranty for 5-6 bucks. I think bestbuy and others have a similar
    option as well.

    Defective Xbox One Products

Ok... time for a reality check jr......

    -

First off, you DID NOT have to buy a second controller, you decided to on your own will.

    -

Best Buy has a 14 day warranty on electronics, 30 days if unopened. Regardless MS will warrant the product for a year.

    -

MS also offers Advanced exchange program.... you could have a new controller in 2 days.... or go buy a new controller for $50, since you spent $1200 on a X1 + 2 controllers.... (ouch.... that had to hurt)....

    -

    They are electronic's, they fail.

    Wired Controller Disconnecting.

It might be a faulty connection to the motherboard. It is never recommended to service your controller on your own as you can mess them up and it voids the warranty. Sorry but it looks like you need to buy a new controller.

Device Service and Repair Not Working

NOTE: Xbox Accessories (controllers, elite controllers, headsets and so on just have a 90 day warranty in the US)

Xbox Support might be able to help but that $150 controller just has a 90 day warranty.

Here in Australia The Elite Controller was covered by my Elite Consoles Warranty. I have already sent it in to be replaced twice (stupid rubber grips expanding).

If https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/devices was still working as it's supposed to It would be being replaced for a third time right now.
There's the console which has it's own warranty and then the controller. The controller is not under a "console" warranty. Accessories, like controllers have their own warranty. In the states it's 90 days and in other countries it can be up to a year.

You can't create your own repair order for your controller. You'll have to contact Xbox Support for assistance.
