i deleted an old payment and billing method because it didn't work anymore, i was wondering if i can still buy memberships, games and add ons and movies with just money from a currency card/prepaid card that you get from gamestop and best buy and not have
a payment and billing method, my parents won't let me put my credit card on my xbox one so i have to get the prepaid cards, hopefully i can still buy stuff just without a credit card and only currency card/prepaid cards

Gold subscription does not except prepaid cards.edit

Not sure how in 2016, you don't use debit or credit cards but that's just me.

Anyway, could someone else confirm if using prepaid VISAs work or not? You could always go to gamestop or bestbuy, use your prepaid VISA card on a subscription xbox live card. That should work. Perhaps order a digital code on amazon with your prepaid VISA. I'm pretty sure they accept it.Click to expand...

Doesn't trust banks or credit card companies. Tries to use their pre-paid cards.

I fear for this person's future when they try to buy a house with no credit. Maybe they are rich and will just buy it out right with their mattress money.

As for a solution to your problem, use your prepaid card from a company you don't trust to buy a 12-month or 3-month Xbox Live Gold card from the store.

You can't buy subscriptions with that currency, you'd have to purchase a prepaid gold card from a retailer for that. Otherwise, the money on your account can be used to purchase pretty much anything else. If you are purchasing 360 content, you would have
to make the purchases on a 360 console in order to use the currency.

if your talking about the prepaid card with the money on it, you can not buy gold with that, you can only add gold by using your credit card to buy it from the xbox, computer, smartphone, tablet, or ipad, or you can buy the ppc with is completely different
from the currency cards.

currency cards can only be used for movies, games, music, and other DLCs

Support will check on the credits for you, but FYI, you gold can only be purchased via credit card/Paypal or by purchasing a prepaid gold card in a store. The currency system (money from rewards credits or Xbox gift cards), cannot be used to purchase gold.

What you're referring to is Microsoft points. Those were not points earned from games. It was just a type of currency Microsoft used for purchases in the marketplace. The points system was discontinued in August. So now everything is in your local currency.
You can still add money to your account without having to use a credit card though by purchasing a prepaid card.
