Buying games that are on game pass

1. You don't need Game Pass to buy the add-ons. If you don't own the game though, you'd still need Game Pass to be able to access the game and play the add-ons.

2. Game Pass is Game Pass no matter where you buy it from. You wouldn't need to cancel it just to buy it again. You already have Game Pass Ultimate so you have both Game Pass for console and PC Game Pass.

When you say "buy Minecraft through Game Pass", do we presume that you mean you are buying Game Pass and then playing Minecraft through that rather than actually buying the game itself? In that case, if you stop buying Game Pass, then you will no longer be able to access the game unless you resubscribe to GP or you buy the game

Did you just buy standard Game Pass or did you buy Game Pass Ultimate?

If you were to buy Game Pass Ultimate, that would be true and you would be able to play the game and play online. However, for people who only buy Game Pass Core, the game is not available through that subscription and they would need to buy the game. If the game is eventually removed from Game Pass, you wouldn't be able to play it without buying the game either.

If you have a game installed on your console, and then it leaves Game Pass, you will get an error message telling you, you need to buy the game.

So if there are games in Game Pass that are about to leave Game Pass, and you want to continue playing them, make sure to buy them before they leave Game Pass, as you get up to 20% off of each game you buy while it's in Game Pass. And you get 10% off on
DLC associated with games in Game Pass.
