Buying games from a different region.

Hi All,

The console will be launched the next sept 2nd here in Chile. In the mean time I was trying to buy some games from the store but it seems that the store is not available yet so my question is if it is possible to change the region of my live account to US
to buy some games and then switch it back to Chile when the console arrives and if I will be able to download all the games purchased this way.

Hit the xbox logo on your controller, go to settings. Then select System. You should find "Language & location". Select United States and you're done!

Hi,

is there any reason in particular you cannot wait until the console launches in your region to start buying the games? Digital titles are not bound by region restrictions like disc-based games once were (no longer the case as the Xbox One is region free,
meaning any game on disc from any region will work on a console in any region).

As for migrating your account to a different region, it can only be done once every 3 months so you would be stuck with a US account until the end of November.

The only reason I have to do this is to take advantage of the GWG and DWG program for August.
