Will buying an Xbox One from abroad work?
My worry is with the software - would it work if I were to bring a console from another country over here? I assume the reason there is a delay in release to these countries has something to do with this. Any ideas?
The reason
for the delay is localization (presumably voice recognition) Assuming the issue is voice recognition, as long as you speak to the console as someone who lives in one of the regions where it's being launched you'll be fine (that, or don't talk to it at all).
If you try to speak to it with a dialect that the console's not able to handle then there will be issues.

Buying games abroad

It depends, Xbox is region locked, each region has a code, I own a Xbox from the US, I visit Japan often and my Xbox does NOT play MOST games from Japan. Here is a list of regions hope this helps!
North America and South America NTSC-U. Japan and Asia (Except China) NTSC-J. Europe, New zealand and Australia PAL region. China NTSC-C. Most games will not work between Spain and the UK, but Microsoft is tricky because they let
each publisher choose if the game is locked or not, like assassin's creed could be bought and played anywhere. I hope this helps some.

I've brought Overwatch and taken a gamble so hope there isn't a problem with it when I get back.

The xbox one is not region locked when it comes down to physical copies of games.

It's only some digital content that is region locked & dvd/Blu-ray discs.

The only games that may not play are disc games bought in China but that's a bit of a detour from Spain.

buying a game abroad

Hi,

You can buy a game with the Brazilian Store. You will have to buy separately a Brazilian Gift Card to give you the money you need on your account. Then when you connect to buy the game, you will be prompted to add a method of payment, you can enter your
credit card even if its not brazilian one ! But you will have to enter your brazilian address !

That's it :) enjoy your game !
ok if the credit card way isnt a thing I'll use this method.

Thanks!
