We have internet data caps here in New Zealand so I borrowed a friend's BF4 to install it, then I bought a digital copy - only had to wait about 10 seconds for the license to download - NOT the full game install files.

Saves carried over fine for this too

I bought the disk version of bf4 and later on wanted the digital version so i can switch without inserting the disk, you don't have to re download the game if you installed it with the disk all you download is the digital license witch takes about 10 seconds.

I don't know if someone said this or not, if not, I'm gonna pass this information on just for good humor. I know you may want to go completely digital at some point, which is great, however, without realizing it, you kinda already are. Here's what I'm saying
in general. When you buy a hard copy, you save downloading time buy installing the game from the disk vs the internet. You'll still have the hard copy that you'll to need for the game, but thats only for the licence of the game itself, you'll be accessing
the digital download of the game from your hard drive, which makes the system run with less energy because it's not using the disk drive at all. Once it recognizes the game, the disk drive stops and goes 100% digital from there. My opinion, if you want to
bypass the long wait, by the hard copy, you'll be glad you did.

i gave my disc to a friend but now i want to buy it again, except digital. yet xbox live doesnt give me the option to buy it, just"rate". what can i do? on 360

If the option to buy is not shown, then the game is not available on the xbox 360 store. Your only option is to buy the disc version again. Next time, please don't bump up old threads, post in the relevant forums, that way you can get the relevant support
more quicker.

The main reason I am asking this is because eventually with majority of my games I would like to go digital. Right now I am still retail disc. With slower connections like Mystogan J said above this would help speed up the process by installing then buying
without having to download at this time also. If there are sales on digital later on much like with Xbox 360 games now I would buy the digital and get rid of some of the disc versions going forward. So really there are a few reason's I would do this. Might
have to use trial and error if remains unanswered.

The system should still have your save stored. However since it is a digital bought after unsure if it will access the same save. It should since it is saved mainly by account but I cannot give you a definite. Also, like said before. Trials cannot be added
onto an existing membership. I still have like 15 days in trials cards laying about.

This would be a good question to figure out since I have gotten Need for Speed from Gamefly. I do wish to purchase the full digital copy and send the disc back to them and keep all my saves and not have to wait a day for it to download. Good question,
however I have no idea of the answer.
