Well digitally it may be possible, but when you say downloading a game from disk, then it's not possible. Downloading a disk game doesn't give you a license to the digital game. If that ever be the case then only one person will buy a disk and share it
across with everyone else, and everyone will get the digital game for free.

No, he just means if you buy the game on disk, then the disk has to be in the drive for you to play the game (every time) as that is how it validates your ownership each time.

Basically:

Series X: You can play either a disk game with the disk in the drive or a digitially purchased games

Series S: Can only play digitally purchased games as it has no disc drive

If the Live Arcade games are disc games, then you won't be able to play them if you buy a Series S
