So I am now working in Japan and will continue to do so for another year or two, but I am from America. I left my 360 in America because luggage-wise it was not viable for me to bring it over with everything else I needed for work. As such I have been considering
buying an xbox one here in Japan and I have several questions in regards to this.

First I read that the xbox one is no longer region locked. Meaning that when I do return to America I will be able to play the games that I buy there on my xbox one from Japan. I would also assume this would be true for any games I buy from the xbox live
    store.

Second question would the game display/spoken language of games in Japan be in Japanese or English? Would I be able to change this (I would prefer English or at least English subtitles)? I saw that it depends on which language your current region supports,
but I have no ideal how to check what Japan's language region options are.

Third question, how will xbox live work? As in the online gaming aspect of things? Since I am from America and my account is set up for America I would imagine that I would not be able to play online since America is on the other side of the world and if
I were to play then I would probably be laggy. Although I hope I am wrong. And if assuming that I cannot play online because of my location settings being set to America, would it be possible to change it to Japan just for the sake of playing online?

I would assume that there are multiple xbox live versions for different countries right. I don't have to worry about seeing the store displayed only in Japanese offering games I've never seen before right.

Finally, about the power supply. Since I am in Japan the xbox one will come with the version that works on Japanese outlets, I am assuming that I can buy a part in America that works with American outlets when I return right. Not a big issue since I can
buy a converter or what have you, but still...

I think that about covers it for questions I have about buying a new xbox one in a foreign country. Thanks in advance!

    :)

Xbox Live in a foreign country

Since you have a US account, the cards purchased in the US would work. However, keep in mind that if you do want to download anything from the marketplace while you're in your country you will run into region issues. Many items will not download if your
account region and your physical location don't match.

Xbox Live in a foreign country

I bought my xbox a few months ago in the US and brought it to a country not included under xbox live. The xbox came with a month of xbox live subscription which worked just fine but i later found out that you cannot renew the subscription or purchase anything
from the marketplace in my country. I'm going back to america for summer next month and wanted to know if i can just purchase an xbox live card and an xbox microsoft points card in america and redeem them in my country? Or do i have to bring my entire xbox
to america, purchase live and then bring the xbox back with me?

any info is greatly appreciated. thanks
