Buying access to another xbox account

Hi, my case is a bit hard to understand, but i hope i can explain it well.

I once bought access to an account on some website for very little money.

There were a few games on this account. The seller told me to log in with this account on my console and then I will be able to play games that are on this account.

After logging in, I downloaded these games to my console and then logged out of the purchased account and logged in to my own microsoft account. Amazingly, it was true and I was able to play the games that belonged to the account I had purchased. Later I read a little about it and it turned out that such "buying access to the account" is a violation of the TOS regulations and that it threatens to block the account or the console. Because of this, I created a new account with the thought that the old account will be blocked. now i'm wondering why this old account hasn't been blocked until today even though the situation took place a few years ago. Would someone be able to explain it to me?

I am sorry but we do not really know how Microsoft's system works in detecting those kind of activities. But for sure they already have a system in place to detect some unusual activities on our accounts.

I understand, and could you tell me how long it takes to detect suspicious activity?

Hi Jacob!

Yes, it's clearly a violation on the Terms of Service of Microsoft to buy and sell accounts due to security matters. It's not necessarily that they can detect it right away but if they found it out and would be able to detect it based from your activity they have the right to suspend your account. I do not really encourage my friends and fellow gamers to buy and sell accounts because it's not allowed at all and it's risky exchanging your personal and sensitive information to someone.

Thanks for the reply! Would the banned account still be able to buy live and game pass and then access it on another account on that same Xbox

Yes, usually people get access to accounts, buy points, and then transfer the characters and what not to another account.
