Buying a used XBOX One...Would you do it?

I think it goes without saying, no.

 

I recently brought a used PS4. Realized It wasn't worth it for just Samurai Warriors 4 and took it back today. The console itself worked just fine though.

The only time that I purchased a used console was the Original Launch Sega Dreamcast because I purchased his collection from him at a bargain price (I forgot how much it was, sorry).

He takes really, really, really good care of his game consoles and everything worked like they just came out of a factory sealed box LOL

I'd just wait and save for a new one if I were you. Buying a used console is inviting a problem into your life.

 

I never buy used consoles, or discs. I can not live with the thought that if anything did go wrong; that it possibly could have been the previous owner.

My opinion...always buy new. Especially a console.

 

I have no problem buying a used game, though I haven't done it in a couple years. You can easily inspect the disk and decide if you want it with full knowledge of what you are getting. With a console, it's a bit more mysterious and therefore not worth
the risk.

 

Agreed Bizarro, you can do that. I still have this issue with buying a used disc. I still remember the last used disc I purchased for me. 8 years ago. The Godfather 2.

You are absolutely right Bizarro, you can inspect the disc. And the console you are spot on. There is that unknown. The previous owner could have had his hamster using it for a bed. Or the store you traded it in could have had it hooked up in the back
using it. As far as used games go, I still have this issue with buying a used disc. I can not bring myself to do it for a few reasons. Generally it is only a few dollars cheaper (if it is a newer game, it will be 54.99 as opposed to 59.99) I like the Developer
to get their money for the game they worked hard on. And the user could have used it for a coffee coaster. Blu Ray discs are very durable... but still haha

My hamster George would have found the xbox to be an unsuitable place for his nest. He liked cool places. Just saying.

Hello everyone

The only time you should buy a used console is if you buy it from a friend who takes really good care of their game consoles.

Other than this, I highly recommend spending the extra money and opting for the new factory sealed consoles instead of used ones

I have bought both New and Used consoles. New, I have had to return for repair and still wound up getting back a hunk of junk. (xbox, and the 360) which had 2B returned yet again.

Used, I often got cheap enough so that if needed. Repairs could be done without much added cost.

Xbox One however I would suggest getting New as its hardware is married through the software, to one another.

 

It's better to pay more for a factory sealed Xbox console bought from an authorized retail store which comes with a 12 month warranty, than risking buying second hand from a non-authorized person/company. Microsoft does ban consoles with modified internal
parts and I heard that if you sign into a bad console that your account can get banned instantly. There are bad people out there and I feel it's best to get it through retailers list by Microsoft as an authorized retailer. And I want to know the history of
my console. The history of my Xbox 360 slim console and Xbox 1 console = I brought it from an authorized retailer it came with a 12 month warranty and that it was bought brand new factory sealed. I don't have to worry about my account getting banned because
naturally it's a 100% genuine console not some refurbished or used console by some random. Some stuff it's OK to buy second hand but not really for your electronic devices.

 

If I was buying one off a close friend I would and have done it a few times but I wouldn't buy one from a stranger or from a secondhand store. To much of a gamble.

 

that plants vs zombies console looks horrid, cheap decals are not the way to go.
