Buying A Game For Two Xbox Ones

Hi, I have two Xbox Ones in my house one for me and one for my son. We have different accounts. Do I have to buy 2 games for each Xbox One? I downloaded Battlefield 4 a year ago, and I can't remember If I was asked to buy it again. I know when I buy a game
under my account, it downloads on the other, but I was asked to buy it again. Is there a way so I don't have to buy it again, so we can play separately? I was planning on getting BF Hardline for both of us.

set your sons Xb1 as your HOME CONSOLE and have your son set your console as his HOME CONSOLE.. buy games digitally... ONCE and ennjoy

 

Ok, I just tried it for BF Hardline. I had my machine as my home xbox and my son's account in his own home xbox. I bought Hardline on mine and then let it finish. Next, I logged in to his account on his machine and then checked if it would say buy or download,
but it says buy. Does that mean I'm still buying again on his machine? I figured it would say download only.

 

Did you do it right? Lemme walk you through it slowly.

While on your son's profile on YOUR Xbox, press start > settings > my xbox > my home Xbox > set as home Xbox.

Then do the same thing on his Xbox logged in as your profile. It should say download, you don't have to buy it twice.

 

basically, your sons xbox needs to be set as your home console

and your xbox needs to be set as your sons home console

Console that's how mine is set up I have one in my living room and one in my room. The one In my living room is my home console so my friends can play all my games without me being logged in while I can play at the same time up stairs. Your home console
must be your sons and that's it

 

Disc that works if only one person is buying the games... but if the son buys some games on his own... the dad will not get access unless the sons HOME console is set as well...
