Buying a game as a gift that is already purchased

I am trying to purchase Diablo 3 as a gift for a friend who has been wanting to play diablo3 for a while, but I already have the game. Does anyone know where to go to purchase the game as a gift after the game has already been purchased for personal enjoyment?

It may be that not all games can be bought as a gift, or if it is a Pre-Order of a game you have pre-ordered for yourself, the gift option doesn't seem to appear until the release day has passed when it should show the gift option again.

so I am trying to buy a game as a gift but the option is not showing up and I have bought many games for friends even ones ive owned so I dont know what to do

 

try buying it as a gift on Xbox.com

 

I have tried, but every time I go to the Xbox site to purchase it as a gift, I keep getting the message of it being part of a bundle when I want just the base game.

 

Currently it seems the base game is not available for purchase unto its own, sadly. It is only a part of a bundle.
