Buying a different version of a digital download game

I bought elite dangerous when it was on the early access program and now Im thinking about buying horizons but I want to buy the Commander Deluxe edition. Is there any way I could get a discount or something for already owning the core game instead of paying
the full price of $59.99 just to get a dlc and some ship skins?

Physical Media Games

The disc version and the digital version of a game require different data. You can use the same save games but you will have to download the game again completely

What security? You can download the game to a 360 console.

With rare exception (some Steam games, the occasional
Linux engine), games are locked to the platform they are sold on. Buying the 360 version of a title does not beget you the PS3 version. Buying the PC version of a title does not beget you a 360 version. The same applies to buying a 360 version should there
be an Xbox One version as well.

You could purchase the
Elite Dangerous: Horizons Season Pass which is currently $29.99 USD in the Xbox Store. This would include the Horizons expansion DLC, but doesn't include the Elite Dangerous: Commander Pack DLC which as you mentioned includes paint jobs for different
ships.

The only way to get the Commander Pack DLC though is to purchase the whole Commander Deluxe Edition and we couldn't speculate if that content will be available separately. You'll need to contact the developer/publisher for more information on that.

[/quote]There's no difference. It's the exact same game with the only difference being how you get the game. Only difference could be if the game runs off the disc. In that case the digital version will have faster loading
due to running directly off the HDD. But since it's most likely you'll just install from the disc on both the PS4 and X1, that won't be an issue anymore.

The Xbox One S All Digital version will only play digital games, you will have to buy a different Xbox One to play disc-based games.
