Buy your own server...

I have looked through 3-4 pages of this forum and could not find anyone talking about hosting servers like in

BF3 so forgive me if it has been discussed.

My question is will people be able to purchase their own servers and make their own rules like BF3? Really on the fence on purchasing this one. I loved BF3 until they allowed randoms to make their own rules, boot people and generally allow the inmates
to run the asylum

It has been discussed a few times in other threads. But, anyway I am sure they wil have the rent-a-server option coming in a future update. It is money in their pocket, of course they are going to do it. But as far as I know, no one knows when this will
happen.

 

They (rental servers) are NOT out yet. Yes, there were Dbag Admins, but I think rental servers were the best thing about BF3. I could pick the map rotation I wanted, the game mode I wanted, and the high ticket count I wanted to play in.

 

Yeah, can't wait for this option as well. There's supposed to be an update on it soon.

i kind of have the feeling that it's not going to happen.

 

In my opinion I hated the Rented Servers mostly because of the never ending games, I like to play all the maps with 250-300 Tickets Conquest.

You know, you could filter those games out in the server browser, right? You didn't HAVE to play on them....

 

I just played a 90 minute match on my BF3 server the other day, took some getting used to, the matches on BF4 Xbox One are OK, the only reason why I ever rented in the past was because of the short 5 minute default servers on BF3, Glad they found some middle
ground on BF4.

 

^^Yeah, the default settings are better than BF3 for sure now, but a few more tickets would be OK IMHO.

I cant wait to do high tickets. I liked Battlefield for the long team based gameplay. Right now it just feels like call of duty with vehicles when matches dont even last 10 minutes

 

If both teams are good the games last a playtime and thats when I stay in a server but games can go fast if one of the teams is crap.
