    Is there anywhere I can buy a microsoft branded 250 GB HDD for my xbox 360, I don't own a slim.

    Lost Email Info attached to RROD'd Gtag - Cannot Recover - Please Help

    Called Xbox support.

    Verdict: since my original gtag 1 was never online i have to use a transfer cable to transfer profiles from my original rrod hdd to the current xbox.

    Problem: the transfer willt be a full data transfer not partial, from my original 60g hdd to my 4g slim. NOT possible.

    Solution: purchase xbox 250g or + HDD, replace 4g hdd with 250, purchase 1x slim to slim hdd transfer cable, transfer current profile from 4g HDD to new 250+HDD. Purchase Xbox360 original hdd to Xbox360 slim hdd transfer cable, Transfer profile from original
    360 hdd to 360 slim with new 250g hdd, merge profiles

    providing I remember the password.

    Ouch.

    Attaching an HDD to a 4g S model

    I just bought a new Xbox 360 S model with 4g flash memory and no HDD. Can I attach the 250g HDD from my original Xbox 360?

    Quite a few official 250GB HDDs on ebay if you don`t mind 2nd hand. And never had any problems with 2nd hand HDDs myself.

    1. Register a new HDD device in storage menu?

    2. Expands the inbuilt memory? if it does do i lose any previous system files?

    All it would do is show up as an empty HDD. It would not affect any inbuilt memory or save files.

    yes any HDD should work with the corresponding Xbox. For example, i bought an Xbox Arcade and later when i got Xbox live, i bought a 250GB HDD and used it with my Xbox and it works fine. also if you have the original make of the Xbox 360 make sure you buy
    the original make HDD because im pretty sure they are different HDD's between the original make of the 360 and the Kinect make.
