Buy kinect separately for xbox one

Wondering if you purchase the xbox one without the kinect if you can buy the kinect separately later? I have tried looking but haven't really found any available for sale just the ones for windows... or perhaps that will hook up as well. Thanks in Advance...

No I would not buy it separately for myself, but I would buy it for my children, like the last kinect, it's good tech in my opinion, it's just not for me, I would pre-order the Xbox One now if the kinect could be removed, it's just not my thing.

 

My entire friends list is emigrating to PS4.

Idiots... without this policy the kinect will never amount to any meaningful gameplay.

Lets take it a step further!!! lets just sell the box! those who want kinect can buy the kinect separately and those who want the controller can buy that separately! More confusing for all the developers but more choice for gamers!!! YAY!!

I am sure you can find a "used" or "never Used" on eBay if you want one now... and TBH, when they sell new from MS, expect the price to be $199 or more. On ebay, you can find them for under $50.00, and those prices will go up once new SKUs are released

 

And you definitely want the Kinect. It is what truly separates itself from the competition. And not for mocap gaming. Its other abilities

 

Why exactly would you want a Kinect? Unless you love Skype, screaming at your TV, or dance and fitness games, its useless.

 

Above no it's really not useless it's faster than the controller , just say xbox go to (what ever ) and your there.

 

I agree with the Viking. It's far, far from useless. If you think it's only for screaming at your TV or flailing around while dancing or exercising, then you've got the wrong idea. It can easily enhance games and the UI for the better even with a whisper
and with minute movements - none of this screaming and flailing that Star is talking about - that's pure phantasy...

 

ha ha GG I see what you did there. Kinect just needs to be properly calibrated and it works great for UI. If your yelleing and flailing then you probably didnt calibrate it properly. Also do it more than once cause everytime you do helps work out any bugs.
I do it every couple weeks. not because i have any problems but so problems never arise

Hello everyone

If the new Kinect Sensor cost more than $100, then it doesn't make any sense to pick-up the $400 Kinectless Xbox One if there is even the remote possibility of the individual wanting to pick-up the Kinect Sensor.

I believe that the Kinect 1.0 was sold at $150 when it was released & keeping this price point in mind, that individual (the one who wants the Kinect Sensor after picking-up the Kinectless Xbox One) would be paying $50 more without any taxes being applied
to the $550 purchase ($400 + $150 = $550. Then $550 + taxes = ????).

It pays to invest in the console with Kinect. Microsoft has the right to charge more than US$100 for a separate sensor if peps have a change of heart. Even in NZ, the Xbox 360 Kinect is still RRP NZ$179. In NZ Kinectless console is $599 and console with
Kinect is $749 (RRPs).

I agree with you in regards to the fact that Microsoft has the right to charge more than $100 for the Kinect Sensor for the Kinectless Xbox One.

I was just pointing out the fact that unless the individual is 100% sure that the Kinect 2.0 is not worth, it would probably be much cheaper to buy the $500 Kinect Xbox One instead if there is even the slightest chance that the Kinect 2.0 peaks that persons
interest

GG, I still can't tell the thing to play disc. Like 8 or 9 out of 10 times it will go to play music instead. I tried saying it various ways and still nothing. It also likes to randomly go to TV when shouting out a voice command as well. I don't even have
it hooked up to run TV through it. Sorry man, until the Kinect is actually supported with more exclusive games, the thing is near worthless. Give me a new Kinect Adventures, or maybe a new Gunstringer, or Child of Eden then maybe i'll start to like it
