    Buy downloadable games before owning an Xbox?


    Hi all,

    Is it possible to buy downloadable games and DLC content before owning an Xbox?

    My Xbox won’t be arriving before December, however, as many good games are currently on sale, I would like to buy some of them already.

    Will this be an issue or will any game I buy now be available to play as soon as I have my Xbox?

    Sorry but the disc version and downloadable version are separate entities and owning one does not entitle a person to download the other.

    Sorry to hear about your console. You should check to see if you can get a used one on the cheap. But double check it to ensure it will access live before you buy it.

    No. There's no way to download the game before you buy it.

    You would buy the games from the website using the account you want to use when you get your console. Once you sign into the console, the games should show in your Games and Apps section as Ready to Install and you can download them there.
