Buttons on controller acting like guide button Xbox One.

It's the controller sync button like the one that was on 360, the black square button beside the usb ports, so if you wanted to connect a new controller you would press that and at the same time the button on the left side of the Xbox guide button, hope

If you press the menu button (the small one with 3 horizontal lines on it to the right of the Guide button) on the controller that should work as and enter/submit button.

Also, check that you don't have a device (phone, tablet, etc.) connected to your console through the Console Companion App acting as a keyboard input.

It makes the selection animation (the box "clicks") but it never access the app. Seems like something disconnected internally/got stuck on internally, leaving different buttons to act as if they are depressed, without being depressed. This is shown when
entering the xbox one guide, which when opened with the controller scrolls endlessly up or down based on whichever way I push the analog stick. If I open the guide with voice via kinect it does not scroll incorrectly like this, only when the control is activated

To OP, was there any lights on the controller like the 360? Also was the guide button a touch button or a pressable button? Thanks
