Button remapping problems in the Elite controller

Hello,

I'm having a lot of problems with the button remapping, on the Elite controller. I've tried to remap a few different buttons to the 4 paddles on the back/bottom of the controller (the 4 removable silver things) and nothing works. No matter what I try to
remap to any of the 4, it doesn't work.

My controller is updated, and the paddles are enabled.

On the button remapping screen, in the Xbox accessories app, when you go to the "Map to" drop down box, there is no options for the paddles in there at all. On the back of the controller, they're labled as "p1, p2, p3, p4" , but those are not listed in the
map to drop down box, only the 4 controller buttons are listed there (x,y,a,b) So, that makes no sense to me at all.

Also, for example, I tried to remap LT by holding it down, so I held down LT, and it said Lt - ? , then I press P2 (for paddle 2) and immediately a circle appears, with a line through it.

This is extremely frustrating! I bought an elite controller yesterday, had these problems and then exchanged it for a new one today, and now I'm having the exact same problems on the new controller! $150 for nothing but frustration and anger so far.

Has anyone else experienced this and/or can help me get this fixed?

Xbox Elite paddles

Hello, I bought the Xbox Elite controller for my PC and I very satisfied with it, but I have a question. Elite controller have four paddles that copy ABXY default and in special app from WinStore I can remapping it but only on controller buttons. On PC it
will be very useful to use this 4 paddles like unique buttons because some games like Elite Dangerous have many button-options. Question: will Microsoft make update for Elite controller on PC, that make 4 paddles unique buttons?

Elite controller question

I read that you can remap the buttons on the Elite controller but I'm wondering if you can also disable them? I have a problem with the button under the right stick where I accidenatlly push it when I get excited. (aka Death Grip) I had a custom controller
made by some guy on eBay that disabled that button and moved it to an extra button on the underside of the controller similar to the paddles on the Elite. I'm wondering if the same thing could be acomplished using the remapping feature of the Elite? Can I
disable the right thimb stick button and reassign it to one of the paddles?

Unfortunately you made a small mistake in trying to button map. To map a different button to the back paddles you need to first hold down one of the paddles and then press the button you wish to assign to it.

 

Your problem is that the drop-down menu isn't labeled right. It is opposite of what makes sense. There is a drop-down box, and below that it says 'map to', and below that is another drop-down box. Select the paddle (or other button you want to use) in
the top box, and then select the button whose function you want on that paddle in the bottom box.

For example: For a shooter game like Halo where the 'a' button is jump by default, if you want to make the lower right paddle the jump button, select 'lower right paddle' in the top drop-down box, and then select 'a' in the bottom drop-down box. It is
not the most intuitively labeled menu.

It looks like you are taking a button and mapping its function to another button, but you are actually taking the button and mapping another button's function to it.
