Button not clicking

I have had the same issue with several controllers. In my case, it was always caused by the plastic bumper piece cracking/snapping and then getting slightly misaligned on one side.

Both bumpers are part of the same piece of plastic, which bends slightly each time a bumper is pressed, which can cause it to crack/snap over time. That can lead to it not being properly aligned with the micro-switch, so when you press it down, it's not pressing the switch, so you get no click and nothing happens.

It's also possible that the underlying micro-switch is faulty, but that seems to be a far less common cause.

As for getting it repaired, you'd have to check the terms of your warranty in the country you're in. Here in the UK, for example, Xbox All Access covers both the console and the controller for 12 months, but it varies from country to country. If it's out of warranty, obviously you have a few options. You can fix it yourself, get a third party repair place to fix it for you, or just buy a new controller.

Unfortunately, you will need to buy a new one or try and see tutorials on the web that shows you various ways to fix to this particular issue.

Sorry to hear about your problem but have you tried using a wired connection or maybe even resetting the Bluetooth connection for the controller? Try this simultaneously, hold down the sync button on
your console until the light on your controller begins to flash at a rapid pace. Once this happens, release both sync buttons. Your controller should
now be connected after about five to ten seconds. or you can use wire connection with micro USB cable after releasing the sync button.

May I know if this issue is happening with all games? Have you tried to use the Xbox Accessories app to see if the controller works inside the app?

Also, do you have other controllers that work on your console?
