    Burning smell


    Hi, I have just recently purchased an Xbox series x. Over the last few days of playing I have noticed a burning smell coming from the console. There is also a lot of heat coming from the top half of the console. The bottom half is cool but the top half is pretty warm. Looking to see if this is normal or if it is something that needs fixed. Thanks

    You mean when you start up, or is it continuous? If it's on start up it's the disc drive and fan engaging

    Hello Macchiiato, sorry to hear you're having trouble with your console.

    This is definitely not normal and should be fixed as soon as possible. If the console was just recently purchased then I'd first recommend returning to the store and seeing if you can do an exchange.

    If they are unable to do that then you would need to set up a repair of the console. You can do this at https://account.microsoft.com/devices. Once set up and you have received your shipping label via email you can pack up up the console.

    Please be sure to send only the console and nothing else as Xbox does not guarantee that extra items such as cables or controllers will be returned

    Thank you for your reply I will keep an eye on it and see if it resolves itself. There is also a loud noise sort of like a loud deep vibration coming from the console is this normal?
