    Burning smell from xbox 360


    My xbox has a burning smell. auto shut-off after one hour is on but even with it off, fan still runs and smell of burning plastic fills the house. How do I fix this?

    Funny burning smell from brand new xbox 360

    My kids got an xbox 360 kinnect for this Christmas. Everytime they play it it starts to emit a funny burning smell. I think it sort of smells like burned sugar.

    Could this be normal?

    Same problem. I realize it's got to go in for repair but would like to know why this happened. The machine is about 3 weeks old and has been lightly used and is in a well-ventilated location. From a quick Google scan, it appears that this is a known problem.
    Faulty fan or heat sensor?

    first do not bump old threads and since yours is only 3 weeks old you should be within your return to where you got it window. most are minimum 30 days some are 90 depending on the store/business. if that particular business is not one of those then yes,
    you still have the 1 year warranty so the repair would be 100% free good luck!

    I have that too!

    The first 360 E smelled like burned plastic, the whole room was full of it!

    I exchange it, but the second 360 E smells the same, not so extrem, but the same smell!

    I think they use cheap plastic or something, never hat that before with a new 360 or 360 S.
