Burn Cards would be 100x better......

...if they weren't random and replenished after a match.

Take a away a few of the more ridiculously powerful ones (NO ONE should ever start a match with a Titan, and stuff like Wall Hack is BS), and make it so that you just unlock them as you go along. You still can only bring three into a match, and they only
last one life. But at the end of the match they replenish and you can use them again next match.

It makes them 100% more predictable and consistent, allows people to build an actual playstyle around them and doesn't screw people because of luck while still retaining their element of risk and reward.

PvP would be 100x better with a mode that had no supers or heavy weapons
and no Suros Regime, everyone uses that.

 

Still struggling with Titanfall, and this is one of the issues... I simply never remember to activate the burncards during a game... they should be represented as little icons on the HUD, and let you activate them at any point... still expire after you die...
at least that way they remind you that they are there...

 

Then they would be perks, and while stacking a Yugioh deck of strategic cards would be fun, eventually people would have the best ones, and everyone else would be at a severe disadvantage. The random but temporary factor keeps things fresh. Most of them
are so easily handled, I rarely know when my opponent is using a Burn card at all.

Randomness is NOT balance. Just saying. I liked the TF beta and have not purchased the game yet, but randomness is not balance (in general).

 

The burn cards work well, I like the fact that they are random. None seem over powered to me at all. If someone spawns in a Titan in the beginning, it should be simple enough to destroy in within a few minutes with a coordinated team. I have still never
gotten a Titan one though, and I am at level 49 right now.

 

Yeah, I havent used them (didnt in the beta), but I was just commenting that randomness (which has taken balance out of CoDs) is not balance. I am sure there are some great burn cards (maybe compare them to care package kill streaks in CoD), but if the
right ones are used at the right time, it could swing the momentum of a game, dunno. Example--In a game of CoD, say MW2, you could be winning a game of Domination, but someone could get an AC130 or a chopper gunner in a care package and turn the whole tide
of the game. Can burn cards do that?

 

I understand what you are saying ^^ But burn cards really are kind of lame. They might give you a more powerful gun for that life, or double xp, or maybe the ability to see the map, or run faster, etc... that's the kind of stuff they are. And apparently
there is one that allows you to have a Titan at spawn, but like I said I rarely see those, and I have personally never gotten one. I usually use my amped gun ones, and the run fast ones, I play Hardpoint Domination and play objectives like crazy so I run constantly!
But they really aren't that big of a deal. I guess they add a little variety to the game, but nothing super special, and not a game changer. You should get the full game, if you liked the beta, you will love the full version

 

I said this before about burn cards, but in CoD games, I would get so frustrated that I would get demolished by other peoples score streaks, which I never got to use the good ones. I like burn cards because the talented players will unlock the stronger cards
more often, but all players will get a chance to use them.

My biggest problem with them is I never use them quick enough. My damn pile is always full!

 

SILKYJJ - Once you hit level 50 and regenerate you will get a few of the instant Titan burn cards. I am a little confused on what you really think about burn cards. Two posts ago you said they work well. Then in your last post you said they are lame. Which
is it?

One other thing I don't understand is why people are saying that burn cards are "random"? Burn cards aren't random at all. They are awarded based on completing challenges. They are selected specifically by the player. I'm not sure what people think is "random"
about this?

 

^^So in a way, they are kinda like killstreak rewards? But I understand they only last through one life.

 

They kinda remind me of death streaks you get rewarded for dying by getting to activate a new burn card. I might be the only one here but I usually only use one per game at the start to give my team a good bit of help early on so we can pull away.

 

What I mean is that all players, no matter skill level, will get to use burn cards each match, and be able to unlock the better ones as well. But as they are unlocked through challenges, stronger players can focus in on unlocking the ones they want. I find
it more balanced than killstreak rewards. I know pro's hate anything that makes them seem more vulnerable, but I think this is designed to be a more casual experience than other FPS's out there.
