Bumper Buttons

    I've just purchased an Xbox One and was playing Killer Instinct using the factory controller. The bumpers do not seem to very responsive. Anyone else having this issue or do I have a defective controller?

    Same issue when playing Black Flag. Seems a hassle just to use the spy glass when sailing.

    Don't have this issue with the bumpers, but I did have a creaking Controller Case on the underside join. After a battle with MS they sent me a new Day One that works great.

    I'd keep taking it back until I got a perfect working controller. Accept nothing less.

    No, my 5 household controllers are awesome and work fine.

    I don't have problems, but the bumpers are a bit different to the 360 controller. Not sure how to explain it, but perhaps try not "wrapping" your finger more on to the bumper and applying the pressure on the "root" (like closer to the xbox-button) bur rather
    the outer tip of the button.

    .

    That said, you can wrap the finger on the button but then you apply the pressure more so with the first joint/knuckle-area than the tip of the finger.

    The new bumpers do take a little getting used to. I had a few problems with their placement at first but now that I'm used to them, I actually like them a lot. I find it easier to actually use my knuckle to hit them than the top of my finger. If that makes
    any sense. It's hard to explain!

    They're designed to be pressed with your whole finger, not your finger tip. Once you're used to it everything feels very natural and much more comfortable. The button that actually activates the bumper is positioned more to the edge, not on the top corner.

    Thanks for the tip friends. I'll give it another go tonight. Other than the bumper issue I'm having, I do prefer this controller over the previous version. Feels good.

    I took another controller back today because the left stick became overly loose (could push it in and pull it back out, and the dead zone was off because of it). Changed it for a new one and guess what, dull left bumper!

    Exchanged it again and finally got a controller without defects. Lol.

    In total, five controllers since November found with faults, four with dull left bumper. All from GAME in Nottingham, UK.

    Yes the OP should return the goods until a satisfactory replacement is obtained whilst under warranty.

    I know plenty of people already know this, the bumpers on the X1 are quite different to the 360 and work better if pressed on the edge diagonally, if you press straight down on them they don't work so well.

    The controller itself is great. I prefer it to the Xbox 360 controller after I had a bit of time to adjust to it. Just it's quality and durability isn't great.

    Well, I don't know if I should return them to get new ones. I think it is kinda drastic to have two controllers with the same problem.

    On the one I primarily plays with, I left bumper works fine. Has a high click sound, and is very sensitive. the other one, allmost doesnt say click, and I have to push it pretty hard or else it reacts like I just stops pushing the button.

    But my second controller I bought seperately (from the same place) have the exact same problem just with the right bumper. The left bumper for that controller is perfectly fine.

    The have the EXACT same problem, just with the different bumper.
