I have the slim xbox with BUILT IN wi-fi, but i keep getting disconnected from Live with a message saying i need to connect a wi-fi adapter. This is happening every 10-30 minutes. NO its not my router or my ISP

  2. built-in wifi

i recent got a Xbox 360 s with built in wifi, anytime I try to get on the internet it says I need a WiFi adapter. There is no network settings to configure it says I need a WiFi adapter to go online or connect to live.

Why do I have to buy that damn adapter if there is suppose to be one built in already. The main reason I bought the s was because I didn't need the wifi adapter. Please help any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Solution to Xbox One not accepting password for wifi router.

It's only ever happened playing Crucible for me.

I get disconnected waiting to respawn then I can no longer connect using wifi. It doesn't accept the password.

I've since been playing using wifi bridge instead of the built in wifi adaptor and now it never disconnects.

There is some kind of problem with the x1's built in wifi adaptor

i've been having the same problem for the last 12 months. After numerous attempts at getting Xbox support to help me figure it out, I was eventually told by one of the 'support' people "your best bet is to buy an ethernet cable" - 2 problems i have: 1) if
i need an ethernet cable, what was the point in me paying extra to get a console with built in Wi-Fi?...................... 2) after purchasing the ethernet cable i am STILL getting disconnected all the time. I've tried different cables/locations etc. NOTHING
WORKS !! to me it's a faulty unit, but of course Microsoft won't admit to that !! (and as it's now gone past the warranty deadline, i suppose they don't need to)

(sorry for the 'rant' just sounds like it's not just mine, and I've gave up all hope of getting my problem resolved :-(

    GOOD LUCK

wifi usb adapter on xbox slim

Hi Datch, It may be interfering with the built in wifi, have you tried taking the adapter off and connecting with the built in wifi?

    The slim 360

I love the slim. I had 2 of them. Much quieter and the built in wifi worked without a problem.
