Built a new PC - Gamepass won't recognize my old HDD and wants to delete all the games

Thank you for your reply. I knew that encryption was the issue, I just hoped that there was a way to deactivate one set of hardware and assign it to a new computer...or some other workaround.

I'm really sorry, but what you're asking isn't possible. Game Pass games and purchased Windows Store games use the Universal Windows Platforms (UWP). UWP works differently to other services like Steam or Origin in that the games and apps are encrypted
and can not be transferred to a new PC, they have to be downloaded again. I'm not even sure if cloning hard drives will make them work on a different PC.

As you probably know, backing up Steam and EA's Origin PC games is as simple as transferring them to another drive and then either re-adding them or pointing to where the install is and letting the app add them to your library again. I have no idea why Microsoft
have chosen this backward step with their service. It can't be anything to do with copy protection as Steam and Origin games still have DRM between systems.

Further to that, I couldn't even get a cloned drive to work on the same Windows install; I had a separate SSD for just the Gamepass games for testing and got a different one to test. I cloned the entire drive and basically swapped their drive letters.
Windows and Xbox app treated it as if it didn't exist and I couldn't even delete the old files by normal means. Easiest way was to format the drive and download everything again...

+ability to use any HDD I want, if I buy a HDD it should work for the 360, if any crack or modification lets the console use another HDD it shouldn't be banned or stopped by MS unless it causes problems, MS deleted saves off any non official HDD for no

+ I want to feel like my console won't break, 360 has RROD issues, disk drive issues, and about a dozen other common problems, every time my console freezes or a game won't start I feel like it's all over.
