    Building Your Own Headset For the Xbox One?


    I'm currently in the process of searching for the perfect gaming headset to fit my needs.

    I want a good sounding headset and a good sounding microphone. I stream on twitch and want the audio quality of the microphone to be as good as possible while using the Xbox Twitch application to stream. I also don't have a lot of money to spend on the gaming
    headset because i'm in the process of building a computer to run my stream through. Therefore i've decided to build my own gaming headset. I have put a lot of research into what to get and i've decided to buy the:
    AntLion Modmic 4.0 and the Audio Technica ATH-AD700X Audiophile Headphones. Although, I still have concerns...

    1. Will the Xbox one adapter and an audio adapter work with this build on the Xbox one?

    2. Do I need to buy a mix amp for this setup to be plausible on the Xbox one?

    3. Is the quality of the Mic going to diminish through the adapter and audio convertor?

    4. Are their headsets in the $150 price range that can compare to the audio quality of this setup?

    The reason I want this headset build to work is because I will soon be moving my stream from using the Xbox One Twitch app to streaming through the computer via a capture card and I want to be able to use this headset whenever I do that.

    Any answers, questions, comments, or words of contempt for lack of knowledge are welcome as I am open to any words of advice or expertise.

    Enabling sound from a connected monitor with a headset

    Hello, you would need to purchase a stereo headset designed designed for the Xbox One in order to get your game sound through your headset. Microsoft has their own variant

    www.xbox.com/.../stereo-headset     but there are third party companies which sell certified for Xbox One (Just make sure it says it's available for use with Xbox One).

    Third party XBox One headsets

    If you buy a third party headset you may also need to purchase the Xbox One chat adapter so you can connect your headset to your controller

    Some companies include them in the box, some don't.

    Either way if it comes in the box or not you need to wire your controller up to your Xbox One in order to download the firmware for the chat adapter to it

    Has your son enrolled his console into the Xbox Insider Preview or is it a pre-owned console? I ask because there is a known issue regarding headsets in the Insider Preview build.

    Recommendation needed for Xbox One X headphones

    I would recommend the official Xbox brand stereo headset as it claims to be compatible with all xbox one wireless controllers:

    It probably doesn't need the stereo headset adapter - but if you're going to buy this headset, better just buy the stereo headset adapter to get your other headsets, that you already own, to work properly
