Buggiest console ever? Is Virgin Media internet the issue?

Im at my wits end with this console, its seems so unreliable and Ive actually started using my 360 again for apps the XB1 is that bad. The console constantly freezes, apps crash or fail to load, the same happens with games from time to time, its borderline
useless. Im on my second console after MS replaced the first one, but I wasnt convinced it was a hardware issue. This replacement console is every bit as bad so now Im fairly certain the issue isnt a fault with the hardware.

If I use my console for a day I will typically have to walk over to the console to reset it 2-3 times, and have to restart it due to apps crashing etc a handful of times. Surely this cant be normal or even acceptable. FYI, all my games are downloaded digital
versions and I also run an external 2TB HDD for additional storage. The HDD has also been replaced to rule that out as a source of issues.

Im pretty much at a loss as to explain why many of my friends experiences are fine but mine is so unreliable. Just to include some additional info to the setup, the XB1 is plugged into an Onkyo AVR via HDMI and my ISP is the UK based Virgin media (the ISP
is proving to be pretty rubbish BTW). Does anyone have any ideas or similar experiences that might help me get the bottom of these constant problems.

yh virgins deal with ps4 is to bring better internet which wont happen seeing as virgin media is rubbish

stridefall i noticed you also have virgin media, from other forums im reading this issue seems to be a virgin media problem most or if not everyone who has said who their isp is seems to be with virgin media

 

One of my friends has had issues with their console (different to yours but things like network problems and party problems) and they are on Virgin as well.

He set the console to have a static IP and opened ports on the router and for the most part the issues seem to have cleared up. Not sure if that would resolve the issues you are seeing though, sounds like a hardware issue or it is overheating.

Does your console have plenty of room around it, no electronics on top of it or by the side vents?

There is an active incompatibility issue between Xbox One and Virgin Media at this time, and the dev team are currently investigating the issue alongside an investigation with Virgin Media.

To help locate the issue, please answer the following questions:

- Which method of connection do you use? Wired or Wireless?

- If wireless, which band? 2.4ghz or 5ghz?

- Do you disconnect from Xbox Live at all?

Pretty certain it is not an issue with your Internet. Poor network performance and connectivity problems would not cause applications to crash or cause console freezes. I am interested to know how you have your console connected to the power as I had similar
problems which were eventually narrowed down to a dodgy power strip. When I plugged my replacement console directly to the mains, all of my previous issues disappeared. I am also on Virgin Media.
