Bug report , xbox one Energy-saving Mode not working.

Hi, I tested 4 consoles with same problem , after one of last updates "Energy-saving Mode" is not working anymore.

more info:

Energy-saving Mode = ON

Console need to do full power off , but it enter to Instant-On Mode ( power supply led is white not orange ).

to turn off console need to go to settings and select "full power off" , then it will turn off.

New bug?

I'm using a xbox one elite. After this recent system update there seems to be a bug in the energy saving mode.

My xbox is always plugged to the electricity and on energy saving mode.

Before the update I could just press the button on the xbox and the machine closed itself normaly. Now whether I press the button or close it using the home screeen menu the machine closes itself, on instant-on mode while energy saving mode is selected.

The problem is before xbox closed itself completely, however right now since it acts like it is on instant-on mode and doesnt stop working completely.

The only solution is to un-plug the machine from electricity.

 

When will we be getting a way to limit the download speed the Xbox One uses?

xbox one is constantly updating your friends and feeds and so on , but it should not be doing it in energy-saving mode , it should be ALL the way off , that's why it takes so long to boot up in that mode...maybe yours isn't in that mode or it isn't working
properly...

Energy-saving power mode

In energy-saving power mode, your console is shut down to save energy. In this mode:

•Updates are not downloaded and installed until your console is turned on.

•Your console takes 45 seconds to start up.

•You must press the Xbox button to start the console.

Notes

•In energy-saving mode, the PSU is in off/standby mode and the solid orange LED on the PSU is bright.

•The console uses 0.5 watts of power when in energy-saving mode.

so if the psu is off , I don't see how it could use the internet...

 

Hi. I've got the same issue. Two years with xbox console, a lot of updates and no problem whatsoever. Suddenly, after lastest update, console goes to "instant on" mode even with "power saving" mode checked. I must admit I'm relieved because this means it
is a software problem. Now we have to wait for a proper response from MS.

 

everyone have this issue , right now tested on 8 FAT model consoles , all of them do the same , but looks like microsoft don't care , they not even reply

Thanks for the post, and apologies for the delayed reply here. Are turning off your Xbox One console by using the Xbox One controller (press and hold the Home button and select 'Power off'), or are you using the power button on the front of the Xbox One
console? Could you try both out and let us know what results you see?

Additionally, does the Xbox One console behave like it is in 'Instant-on'? Try leaving a game open before you power down, and let us know if the console boots up with the green screen or if the Xbox One dashboard opens up with the game continuing to run.
