  1. [Bug]Parental controls not locking to active (child) player

I have two xboxes, the home and away xboxes are flipped so that I can use family sharing and we can all play all of the games regardless of where we are at the time.

When my kids try to play games I've purchased on my gamertag on the away xbox they are prompted to purchase the game again, but once I log in, they can play it. I'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to work or not, but that's how we get around it (two
accounts logged in on the xbox at the same time).

Here's the HUGE issue. If my account is logged in, my children's parental controls do not work-even if they are the active player. If my account is logged out, they can't play any of my games, even though they are in my "family".

So the choice is that they either can't play at all, or they have to play under my control settings.

This cannot be how it was intended to work. Can anyone assist?

    :)

    Family Timer

    support.xbox.com/.../xbox-live-parental-control

There is a family timer on the console. But it effects all child members of the family plan, the same.

So if one child is playing 3hr and the time is only for 4hrs any other children will only have 1hr of play left.

Great for 1 child, but not for multiple.

    Hi,

Licensing the games on the consoles this is how it suppose to work as on your home console everyone is allowed to use your contents without you having to login as long as you set it to share games and gold but on your 2nd (away) console the licence is not
there for all of the accounts only when you signed in and connected to the internet. It is the same as on Xbox 360. This is simple to prevent piracy.

  5. Thanks Donnie, my issue is not with the content licensing, but that when an adult account is logged in while a child account is playing, the child's privacy settings are overridden. So my 6 year old can hear people swearing in PvZ when I'm signed in, but
if I'm signed out, his controls work correctly and voice is disabled. Unfortunately, there's no way to play half of our games without me being signed in, and he can't play anything right now online because of the parental control bug.

    Hi,

I see. Now what you need to make sure is when you signed in and they are playing with the other controller or with the same one the profile is changed on the left top, so their account is active and not yours. If theirs active for sure then let me know I
    will test it myself too.

    Hi,

I have tested and what I got is as long as the child logged in beside the adult account the privacy settings of the youngest will be active for all. Is the voice (communication) the only thing which gets overridden or everything else? Also can you try to
change the privacy for your kid's account and then back and test it, please?

Hey Donnie, could it be that we're only using one controller? It goes like this,

He logs in, lauches game, gets prompt to buy game, I log in, switch profile back to son, son then launches and plays as himself, with my account also logged in.

Voice is all I've noticed, but I haven't tried anything else.

    Hi Tootie,

That should not be a problem because when they login the system should adjust everyone's privacy to the youngest account's privacy which means if the child account set correctly the communication should be blocked on yours too as long as the they are logged
in on the console. I would say change the privacy then clear the cache (holding the Xbox logo on the console for 10-15 sec) then turn back on and set it back to appropriate settings. When I tested it the adult account had the same privacy as the child account.
Also to make sure I'm testing on the same OS does the 'away console' has a preview dashboard or the normal standard one?

  10. Both are preview updates, but I just opted out on the local xbox because my disc drive stopped working

I will check it with preview too. Have you tried the troubleshoot steps above yet?

  12. I don't know about the liscensing issue, but regarding the parental controls / content restrictions part there is a glaring loop-hole you should be aware of:

It doesn't matter how secure you make any and all accounts on your xbox one: all you have to do [when you go to log-in] is select Add account, go through the steps, lie abut your age, set your own restrictions [select unrestricted on everything] and now
you have access to everything. period.

there is no setting to restrict access to this, so anyone can do it, at any time [and then delete it after to hide that it was done]. There are no "Admin" or "Global" restriction settings available to prevent this.
