Bug: can't save clip if clip created when console is offline

Very weird things happen to clips if you happen to create them when you're playing and you're not currently connected for whatever reason. Since this can happen without you actually realising it or being told about it, this is a bit of a problem.

If you're playing a game, and you want to save a clip of something incredibly awesome that just happened, after you capture it via game DVR, you cannot actually 'save' it on your console via the (incredibly cumbersome) My Clips menus. The option just doesn't
appear, even though the clip exists, and is there present on your drive, and you can watch it, you can't save it.

Also an additional bug is that you can't actually watch the clip full screen because the option doesn't appear again if the clip was created when you were offline. You can see the entire clip play in the thumbnail preview but you can't full screen it! Pretty
ridiculous.

The ONLY way I think you can actually save the clips that exist in their entirety on your local drive, is to upload them in reduced quality through Upload studio (and then basically they exist in the cloud somewhere instead of on your console, but we all know
how reliable that is). But this is not really an option for people who are stuck uploading clips at 0.1mbps. Even a five minute clip will take about an hour to upload. A clip that already physically exists on your HD!

Fix this issue please.

Game DVR

When I am playing a game and say "Xbox, save that" It says that a game clip is saved. I go to the game DVR or Upload studio and it is never saved.

It does save a clip when I rank up in BF4. It never saves when I say "Xbox save that" but it does say the clip is saved.

Any help?

 

Upload Studio Clip Approval Time

Every clip that I have edited will not allow me to save it. If I upload a clip and I don't edited it I can save it. Have you edited a clip in Unload Studio and save it?

 

edit: additional information. It seems that, further to not being able to save clips that were created offline, these clips can unexpectedly get deleted from your drive before you can do anything with them. I think this is part of the syncing process.

The other day, I had some clips that were visible on my drive which I was going to edit in Upload and save as clips on the cloud (the only way to save them).

However, for some reason when I connected my Xbox to do that, the clips got removed after the syncing process. It was as if the cloud said 'sorry, these clips aren't on MY drive, so therefore, I can't acknowledge the fact that these clips exist on YOUR drive'.
And they just got deleted, or hidden. This bummed me out to a massive degree since they were great moments that I wanted to save.

Very frustrating. As with lots of things with this console. Ideas are great on paper but if they're not executed properly they are just millstones.

 

This is still an issue after recent updates.

If you create clips or screenshots when the console is offline, those screenshots cannot be saved or shared. I don't see any reason to restrict users in this way, and I don't want to lose content that happens to get created when the console is offline, if
for some reason the console isn't connected.

Please could this be fixed.

 

It's still an issue. I'm playing Witcher 3 offline so I don't have to update. I've taken several screenshots that can't be saved.

Ridiculous.

 

WTF !!!!! all this captures !!! great moments ! all my clips gone ! i hate updates so i play offline ! what is the problem . (restrict users)

 

Wow... Over two years and THIS IS STILL OCCURRING!

I've played over 70 hours of Dying Light (offline) in the last three weeks and had a good stash of clips... Kills, glitches, stuff with comedic value, etc. Once I connect to XBL for the first time since recording... All gone! Why
even have the option to record?

Hopefully the "most powerful home console" they're bragging about won't have bush league issues like the XB1.

 

I have this problem too, but (when offline) the clips allso dissapear when changing date/time, which is what allso happens automaticly when Online.

And I have no idea why. (I still kinda hope I can retrieve those captures)
