BT Openzone support

Good evening

I currently live in an area where my only option for the internet is BT Openzone. This is a problem, however, as to connect to the service I must share the connection through my PC, due to the authentication process required to sign in.

This troubles me greatly, however, as this increases the response time from 20-30ms (usual BT Openzone response in my area) to 100-200ms, making many competitive games nearly un-playable. I had heard rumours that the Xbox360 was gaining the functionality
to connect to these types of services natively through their wireless connections, so I was hoping that the same functionality would soon be coming to the Xbox one?

Any information you could provide would be very welcome.

Also, when you connect to the BT Openzone wifi, you go to their website , do you have a VPN to login to after that or do you just login to BT Openzone with your details and then you are browsing the net?

Yeh I've done exactly as they have mate, using the same Internet "BT Openzone" completely stumped ha

 

Never heard of this happening on the 360,let alone the xbox one.

Not sure where you heard this rumour.

 

Do you have BT Internet at home?

You could purchase a Mains Plug Ethernet extender, put the Ethernet connection into the back of the xbox and the other side into the mains socket Ethernet extender.

At the router same process again with the second plug and voila you get a stable connection (you would have to go into the BT settings on your PC and designate the IP ADDRESS so your NAT settings become OPEN)

This is the safest, quickest and best way to connect or else a wireless connection from BT OPEN has never been heard of yet. I always thought BT OPEN was a service provided by BT for BT customers to access the internet at hot spots but capped in terms of
speed (not recommended for gaming)
