BT Homehub 4 Open NAT Solution!

Note!

If you get a conflict it's because the BT Home Hubs automatically open UDP 80 AND TCP 88.

Change your port forwarding to account for this (open TCP 80 and UDP 88).

 

I am at a loose end here, no matter what i tried on here with my bt home hub 4 nothing worked, if anything it actually cannot connect at all now so it is worse than before

The homehubs 4 and 5 are total junk. They are not fully compatible with the xbox one at all. If you also own a 360 it near impossible to keep the nat open.

also if your nat issue is with COD you need for forward port 3076. If its with diable 3 or destiny you need to forward port 1200. This is because the hubs are not compatible with activision games on x1(or ps4).

Your best bet is to do what I did. Throw away the hub and buy a decent router.

 

I think that the advert should be removed from the TV showing the Home Hub 5 as a great hub that will handle any task. Sadly this is no the case and the BT help line which you have to pay an arm and a leg for is like talking to someone who has never seen
a computer. BT should take note of what has recently happened to the makers of red bull drinks as with the red bull advert this Home Hub does not do what it is advertised as. Thank got for form's though.

Contrary to what most port forwarding guides say you don't really need to forward most of the ports listed.

Port 3074 will open the NAT. All others don't really need to be forwarded because they are not listening ports. You can still forward them if you want but most of the time it's not necessary.

So you need port 3074 for xbox live, ports 3075 and 3076 for call of duty, ports 1200 and 1001 for destiny and diablo.

Just leave port 88 as it's not really necessary most of the time.

 

I've tried following all the advice here and still can't get a constantly open NAT. I resorted to putting my XOne into DMZ and thought it had worked. But next day when I switched my console on, it was back to moderate. How can that be?

I'm still doing what I have done from day one, which is to do the 'test connection...hold down triggers and bumpers' trick. NAT will stay open ffor a random amount of time before reverting to moderate. So frustrating.

Have you told the home hub to always give the xbox the same IP address?

If you don't do this then your NAT can change daily.

Although some early versions of the Hub that I've owned have had dodgy port forwarding that would just stop working for no reason. I can't remember if it was the Home hub 2 or the home hub 3A

The home hubs really are the worst routers ever invented

 

Hey Malacath, thanks for reminding me about static I.P. Did just that this morning, reset the router and console, and moderate NAT until I did the test connection trick :/

I really need to invest in a new router so that I can get everything connected and have it all work. I'm not great with this stuff though, and having come from Virgin cable, where it was easy to swap routers, I'm a bit of a newbie having to set up an ADSL
router.

 

PLEASE HELP.

I have added the "My Xbox Live Manual Port Forward" and then selected XBOX ONE but after applying i get this message.

Conflict

The game or application you’ve selected conflicts with an application () you’ve already assigned to another device.

Please remove the other application or select the same device.

Can any tell me hat to do next please??
