    BSOD When installing Xbox App games


    Been off xbox app for a month or so, today launched it up to see any new game pass games and tried to download Marvels GOTG, After a minute or so it pc crashed with blue screen of death.

    I stopped the intall and then tried FF13 and same thing happened.

    Does anyone know why this is happening all of a sudden.

    I played Skyrim for ages a month ago with no problems.

    This solved it too it seems. I had to delete my ESET for it to work. So something with Anti-Virus and Xbox Game App not liking each other is crashing everyone's system.

    Thanks for your tips. I can relog into my system if I disconnect the network cable but I can't disable my SSD in the device manager. So I had to reset my system to the last recovery point.

    In the windows log I found a entry about a problem with the UMDF-reflector. And when I google this I found some entries in forums about a driver problem with the asus managment chip.

    Now I have a question to you. Do you have a ASUS mainboard? I have ASUS ROG gaming mainboard ...

    EDIT: I was able to narrow the error. It has something to do with the Gaming Services. There are two of them. I was able to install Quantum Break and World of Warships from the XBox App. I think the second Gaming Service is for the connect to the MS Cloud. However the Gaming Services that points to the gamingservicesnet.exe in the WindowsApps folder is related to the BSOD.

    Well, it seems we have a coincidence.... I also have a ROG Gaming Mainboard!

    Interesting....

    maybe reinstalling asus management chip?... bios?....

    I got the same freaking problem. I've activated the key for MS Flight Simulator 2020 Premium Deluxe Edition on sunday. Then I opened the MS Store (Win10 21H2) and installed the XBox App. After that I opened the XBox App and started the installation of MS Flight Simulator 2020 and after a few seconds Boom -> BSOD - SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

    I had to recover my system from the last point I've done.

    I've tried every hint I have found on the internet and I had already contact with the MS Support. No fix for that until now.

    Otherwise I can start any other app and game. Such as MS Office 360, Steam, iRacing etc. no problem ...

    Every time I try to install from the XBox App -> BSOD
    Same here man, troubleshooted everything, updated every driver and still nothing but have no problem with any other application like you said Steam e.g. if you find a solution please let me know.

    Same for me, page fault bsod or system exception. This is really frustrating, what did they do to break the app? I just went and did a reset, second one in a week. Not turning on the app until its stable, this thread clears up the cause and I may just cancel my gamepass until then to show my displeasure. So if anything, do not use the app on pc, that is the only course of action right now it seems.
    If you can do a system restore do that. Then check to see if you have Patriot RGB or Patriot M.2 RGB installed. If so, remove that. Some RGB apps auto-install it. Once I did that I could install and play Gamepass games with Anti-Virus installed. The thing that worked for me first was un-installing anti-virus, but now I have my Anti-virus back on and I am able to play/install gamepass games (after I saw that POS Patriot RGB App in system->Apps on my computer. I do not have any Patriot RGB devices.
