Browser Caching Caused Gamertag Change Errors

My youngest daughter has now reached the age where we feel she can play Minecraft in a multi-player environment. We used that as an opportunity to resolve the fact that one daughter was registered against my partner's family account, and one daughter was on my own family account - we wanted to bring our family accounts together.

We managed to consolidate the user accounts into one family account, but along the way we ended up abandoning one of my microsoft accounts. As part of that abandonment I changed the gamertag on my old account to something irrelevant, with the intent of changing my (active) account gamertag to the new one.

I logged onto my account, went to apply the gamertag, and the result was applied to my daughter's account. I tried to change that back, and this time my account had her tag applied.

So the sequence of events was:

I then discovered that further changes were chargeable.

I then reached out to support to try and get this resolved. They were unable to resolve, and offered insufficient store credit for me to be able to resolve this myself.

As part of that conversation I identified that a browser caching issue is occuring during the Gamertag change process. The caching issue results in some steps of the process holding previous GamerTags. I believe this is what resulted in me making the error when attempting to change the original gamertags - despite being appropriately logged in each step of the way.

Really frustrated with this - I've an upset daughter who has lost her gamertag, and no way of resolving this.
