Broken Xbox ONE

Hi everyone,

I am what my 8 year old son calls me a ‘retired gamer’ lol! I find myself here because i have just about exhausted every other avenue. You are my last hope at making my son a very happy little boy. Heres a bit of background.....

As an x-gamer and a long term Loyal Xbox fan, I found myself getting no time to game as much as I wanted. So I handed over the controls to my then 7year old- giving him weekend play. He is mad for Minecraft and Plant vs Zombies. He wanted me to let him play
COD- like I used to. But him being only 7, it was not an option. He plays a lot of Roblox with his friends from school. So now I call him the new and much improved Gamer of the family.

The Xbox One was my last gift from my late Husband. Every Christmas he would gift me my favourite games. I had the Xbox 360 so the year he got me the One, I was in need of an upgrade.

I was so grateful and happy that my hubby had saved all year to get me this gift. (2016 I think).

So when I handed the control to my son, he at first told me he couldn’t play it because it was mine. Eventually he started playing as he could see I wasn’t getting time to play. It was so good go See him making use out of it- especially paying a monthly xbox
subscripton!

In June of Last year, my Husband passed away unexpectedly. Our world was shattered. This was when this Xbox suddenly became more than just a console- it became a huge comfort to my son. He still had limited weekend play due to school. Weekends he had so
much time to think so the xbox helped distract him from the emotions he was facing having lost his dad. He went through bereavement counselling, and his school have been great.

About 3 weeks ago he went on the xbox as normal. Only to be greeted by an error screen. Something to do with the start up! After trying to do the reboot and various other options I contacted Xbox support. I explained everything only to be told that my warrenty
had expired and that even if I paid for a repair- they wouldnt do it as this console is no longer made, however they were happy to suggest I upgrade to a better console! That is fine if 1-you can actually get your hands on the new xbox and 2-if you can afford
it having recently been left widowed with 3 children to support and no financial help with funeral costs etc.

So here I am. Asking you kindly and desperately if anyone knows how to fix this issue. I have been informed its not an easy fix! Its System Error E102.

Am I kidding myself that my xbox can come back to life? Do You have an old Xbox one in good working order that I could purchase via ebay or another forsale website?

I am desperate to make my son smile, he has been doing his best to save up for a new console, but gets upset knowing the last gift his dad gave to me, is now broken- possibly with no fix. This was not just a games console to him, but a huge comfort of his
dad, a distraction from the more difficult days.

I thank you all in advance for any help or suggestions you are able to come up with.
