    I read that an update broke the game,crashes etc?
    I was thinking about picking it up but if it's broken I won't bother.

    All of my scores have been erased after an update?

    The broken update put everyone who installed it against an incorrect back end, the latest update corrects thus.

    but yes, any activity carried out with the broken update will be lost.
