Yeah I searched the net after my original post and found that about disc 2 (game disc) in regards to "texture issues". Wasn't really paying attention to texture issues so I don't know if it fixed that but at least I've now got past the constant crash point
- which was while the credits were still rolling after the first set piece.



So, DON'T INSTALL DISC TWO. Do note it will ask you for it and I don't know if you can continue without doing such (it automatically installs as soon as you load the disc). So let it load Disc One and when it asks for disc two quit to the dashboard, then
load disc two from the dashboard and play the game, it don't ask you for disc two again.

Hmmm, well I am going to try it to see if it functions after installing.....

 

Having the same issue, cant download the update to play, reinstalled 3 times, cant blame my NBN it is working flawlessly

 

i already have the patch with the digital copy, lol thats what u get for getting disc copy early

 

im thinking this is microsoft is doing this so people can play before the street date

 

ahhh i think i see the problem here, we havnt gotten the game early we just live in a country where the time zone differs, this game has been released here in australia on the release date, i have taken this matter to xbox.com.au but my searches have delivered
me here.

 

How come then, if it's a "street date" issue because we're in Australia, does Far Cry 4 install and update without issue just like every other game release in Australia on the same day as everywhere else?

 

ive contacted xbox australia, via twitter and facebook and they said " we will get back to you when we can "

 

also having this prob. two other games updated without prob. this was my first digi purchase. put xbox in offline mode and can get into game no probs, but as soon as it goes back online, same prob. unplayable. is the US date affecting us (Aus)?

 

I got sent to the Rockstar support via their Twitter, filled out all the relevant info submitted and...........

 

Going by their Twitter @RockstarSupport the board is full of people who can't start, download (either the game or update) or load the game up in any way.

So, we're not alone, It's not your game that is broken, it's their game that is broken. Upon release, again.

You'd think they would've learnt something, anything, from the 360 release loading screen debacle absolute worse balls up release klutz of all time.

You'd think.

Anyway, they're "looking into it". Don't that make you feel better.

 

left my console off in 'instant on' mode and it updated. good to go.

 

Took me a full 24 hrs cycle. I got the help desk email reply while I was sleeping, about 18hrs odd after contact, and they told me to turn the whole console off leaving the download where it had freezed (sometimes I got nowhere other times I got to 46%ish).

It's (and I quote) because "It is possible that either the console is not reporting the progress or the installation could have possibly been trying to send an error."

Mind you I think there was more to it than that because all that had been tried numerous times. I think it was a combination of that and all the traffic trying to download the *** thing.

First day patches are notoriously problematic.
