  1. Broken Headset

The little dot next to your name in party chat is always visible, even when my headset isn't plugged into the controller. When I plug in my headset I can hear chat, but can't talk through it and the dot doesn't light up, so no sound is being registered through
the mic. This is the main problem.

Whilst trying to fix it occasionally it will not even show the dot symbol, with or without the headset plugged in.

This scenario has occurred twice before and randomly fixed themselves after 3 days and 8 days. Is there any known way of actually fixing this issue however, as it's a pain not being able to communicate whilst playing.

    :)

    Broken Headset

When this happens, what I have found is that previous Parties are still running in the system. So try the following:

Load the Party app from My Apps and games

Press the Xbox button on the controller to return to dashboard

Press the Menu button (three lines) on the Party App which will be in the main window

    Select QUIT

    Wait a couple of seconds

Start your new party and try your mic again

  6. Did you try a hard restart? You can reboot the console in the power settinging section or by holding the power button for 10 seconds. Just restarting the Xbox doesn't actually restart the console, all you are doing is putting the Xbox one in standby and
    resuming.

If you have done this then disregard

You sure it isn't your headset? That happened to me a few times and it was my headset that was broken.
