    Broken HDR On Xbox One And On Xbox Series X


    So a couple years ago i got myself a tv with hdr and seemed like when i had hdr enabled it would look fine untill i start to play any game that had hdr as a feature… when id open a game the game would looked bleached out and when i opened my side par that too would look bleached out and dull, but whenever id turn off hdr in the main settings of the xbox it would fix it so i can play all the games in hdr, but i couldnt access in game hdr settings because its technically turned off… now i have a series x and its the same issue, ive also gotten a new tv that had hdr but still got the same issue.. any ideas?

    so to sum it up, hdr off means hdr on but i wont be able to access hdr setting in game… and hdr off is actually hdr on but it will look bleak and dull but i can access the settings but the games still look crappy and dull ‍♂️

    I've had this occasionally and as far as I can tell it's related to how my Series X (or One X before that) invokes HDR on my TV. It's intermittent and was often resolved by launching a HDR game or rebooting my XBox.

    RDR2 never received a Series upgrade. The Series Snis playing the base Xbox One version. To access the One X version you would need a Series X

    You should disable auto HDR on the console if it’s not playing well, and make sure to do the same on your TV. That’s the fake HDR where the tv guesses not the real thing.

    It’s also possible the two are clashing

    I just returned my Xbox one x because I'm not going to pay $400+ for a console with a broken feature. Not only that but HDR didn't work right on it either when I had no issues using HDR on my ps4 pro. I'll just wait and get an xbox one x when it's cheaper
    for Black Friday. Hopefully they will have fixed this issue by then.

    Erm........................You do realise that any game that runs on the Xbox One X also runs on the Xbox One S? And because of this, any game that is HDR on the Xbox One X is also HDR on the Xbox One S.

    So basically, any game you find that is HDR on the Xbox One X is also HDR on the Xbox One S
