Broken elite controller audio jack

    So a week ago or so my xbox one elite controller (series 1) headphone jack stopped working. Took it in for diagnostics and apparently it is an issue with the motherboard circuitry, not the jack itself. I have been able to find a workaround by streaming
    via the companion app on my laptop so i can hear game audio and party chat through my headset but still use the elite controller. The problem, however, is that everyone in the party with me has a horrible echo of themselves, yet i do not hear any echo. Im
    wondering if there is a fix for this? Thanks

    I think the headset jack is broken on my elite controller so I decided to use one of those black adapters.... But it won't allow me to change audio volume.

    I think you are wrong, with the headset adapter the jack of the headset is plugged into the adapter which use the expansion port on the controller to transmit the audio. The broken jack port on the controller will not be used anymore.

    If you are using a headset connected through your controller, your controller's audio jack is likely broken, if you are using tv audio, check your tv's speakers on other inputs and check your hdmi cable/ try another hdmi cable.
