Broken disc - will I lose my game progress buying and downloading it online?

My son's Battlefront disc was cracked in half by his little brother.

I am going to buy it online and download it. Will it wipe out his game progress?

Owning two different Xbox ones

i have two Xbox one's, one with a broken disc reader and a brand new one. i have one profile that is shared by two people. now that we have two systems, we would want our own names. the problem is that i bought my games through the market place because of
the broken disc drive. i do not care if i lose my progress in the games as long as the one with the broken disc drive gets to keep all his progress on Forza. i just want to play the games i bought on the broken disc drive system on a new profile on a new system.
i was told about Xbox sharing but i still do not fully understand the concept. i just want to be able to play some of the old games on the new system until i can get my game collection back up.

@Miami - I think he broke his MW3 disc - not his XBOX.

Yes - it will still continue with your previous progress. Game info is saved to the hard drive. It's not written back to the MW3 disc.

Heya!

Game info and saved date for all Xbox One titles is attached to the profile and not the game, thus you can use a digital or disc copy of any game and play on any console you are signed into!

I am not jumping the gun here, the console platfrom is capable of supporting both digital downloads and disc play and remain popular, your common consumer will go out and buy a game at launch wait in lineups and such, the 100% digital age should only come
when people lose intrest in buying disc media. People have come to expect certian ease with consoles and popular opinion is we want things to stay the same cause nothing is broken.

I own digiatal downloads, look at my games, cept i can play all these offline, as i can my disc games, no retrictions. microsoft is forcing a feature no disc in the tray that forces A unique DRM solution, and they managed to put more retrictions on xbla/games
on demand next gen. its ublievable, i can take my 360 to a fighting game tourny and use the games downloaded or on disc on here to play offline as much as I want, cannot with xbox1. So dumb.

I've had it with this game - first I lose all my progress when I downloaded the expansion pack, now I cant play multiplayer because its telling me I need "Additional downloadable content" that doesn't exist or considering the fact that I've downloaded EVERYTHING
for this game I'm guessing its simply bugged or broken.

This needs to be fixed ASAP.

I love MTG, but this is frustrating. I'll be watching the forums for bug reports before I buy MTG 2014 and unless it comes up clean I'm going back to 2012 when MTG actually worked...
