  1. Broken day one pad.

My day one pad recently broke, I rang customer support to find out about a replacement. I was shocked to find out they want me to send my pad away for at least 20 days. I then read about other people experiences with the repair centre and from what I've
seen they are not very happy customers with pads taking up to 7 weeks to be returned and people also having Microsoft loose their pad!. Microsoft need to sort their policy out, this is not a customer friendly way to do things. How do they expect us to have
this amazing Xbox experience they talk about with no pad? Its an absolute discrace to the consumer and something needs to be done about it.

If anyone has had similar problems please post them here, we need Microsoft to take note of this and do something about it. We pay a lot of money for these products and expect the best service possible in return! I don't want to have to defect to that other
console as I have been a true Xbox gamer since day one but this might just make me move to the dark side. Speak up people! The customer is always right!!!!

    :)

Xbox One Day One Controller-broken left bumper

The spring in the D-Pad broke for mine while I was signing in to the console on the first press. Will I get a Day One Controller or a standard controller?

    Broken day one pad.

It may take that long to get it back and it may not. You need to realize that a lot of the problems that have been happening for people happened right after launch when they didn't have enough replacement parts for people. Send the controller in for a
    replacement and see what happens.

In the meantime, I would recommend getting an extra one so you can play. It's always best to have a spare just in case.

  5. Recommending buying another pad is OK if you have £40 spare to throw at another. We shouldn't be getting these problems in the first place. It's Microsoft's corner cutting that's costing us!

I am not sure about consumer law where you are from, but in a lot of countries you can take it back to where you purchased it from as your contract is with the store and not Microsoft. They have a legal responsibility to replace the controller for you or
at least offer a replacement while yours in in for repair. Contact your local citizens advice for information.

I can understand how this would really annoy you. I do believe that Microsoft want to get you a working controller as quickly as possible and don't care if it is you or the store they have to deal with

    Wired controlers

Try connecting only the suspected broken pad to the console via usb. If it doesn't work you know there is an issue with the pad.
