Broken custom Xbox controller

My son wanted a new custom controller. The neighbors worked him for hours moving lumber but he earned enough to purchase the custom controller. He designed it, paid for it, and in in a few weeks it arrived.

The second day he had it, he said the RB wasnt working correctly; that you had to press it harder than the LB. By day 4, he said it was completely dead, it doesnt work at all.

I made him contact microsoft customer service, who apparently told him there are no refunds nor exchanges on this since it is a custom item. Surely there is some sort of warranty right? Is it crazy to think this item should last longer than a week?

Where was the custom controller ordered from? Most sites have warranties included in all purchases. I would try to find the email transaction receipt and contact the sellers.

Controllers from the Design Lab, also known as D controllers, have a warranty of 120 days.

Hello!

Typically controllers only have a 90 day warranty unless an extended service plan was purchased with it. It may be worth reaching out to Xbox customer service directly at support.xbox.com then contact us, to see if there's anything they would be able to do
for you on it.
