    Broken Audio When Downloading/Updating

Now, I have had issues for about six months now with the audio on the Xbox One. Whenever I'm downloading or updating games, the audio to my headset cuts out, along with any audio input from my microphone. Works perfectly fine whenever I'm not downloading
anything, and, in fact, it starts working immediately upon completion of or pausing of the update/download. I haven't brought this issue up before because I thought this would have been fixed by now. I'm extremely disappointed with an issue that at least,
for my other friends on Xbox, is an issue too. Is there any fix for this? I can't seem to find one anywhere if there is. Its really inconvenient to have to pause whatever I'm doing in order to update a game.

    :)

    Noticing Snap isn't on there...

Since update Snap has been broken, laggy TV with both video and audio.

I don't use it much but when I have it's been a disaster

Audio lag when downloading or updating a game.

Does anyone else notice audio lag in game with downloading or update a game.

    Especially when wearing a headset?

    Sorry to hear, Maxcar24!

We'd like to get some more info from you to best assist - can you reply back with the following?

    1. What make/model of headset are you using with the console?

    2. Is the headset connected wirelessly, or is it plugged into the controller?

    3. If it's plugged into the controller, are you using any sort of headset adapter or is it plugged directly into a 3.5mm jack on the controller?

    4. Are you using a wired or wireless connection for the console?

    5. Have you tried any troubleshooting steps for this already? If so, can you let us know what specific steps you've tried so we don't retrace anything?

Now, this does this with any headset/speaker I plug into the xbox stereo adapter, as well as on the controller itself for the one new controller, and both of the older controllers that came with the console. All are wired, however. Both wired and wireless
controllers are used. I have looked at all of the xbox troubleshooting guides, and none of them seem to work. It seems as if this issue isn't one with the peripherals.

  6. Thanks for that info!

In this case, we'd recommend trying a factory restore on the console - there's an option that will keep your games/apps installed to the console, so you don't need to worry about redownloading those.

If a factory restore doesn't help, we'd recommend reaching our
    Chat or Phone
support teams for direct assistance with further troubleshooting.

Game audio through headset without adapter

    Other suggestions to think of:

    • Use a fresh change of batteries? Vibration and game audio gets disabled when the batteries run low.
    • Check for controller updates.
    • On "Headset Chat Mixer" slider bar, ensure it is set to at least (or at most) 50%. This balances game audio and chat audio from 100/0 to 0/100.
    • Ensure the 3.5mm audio connector is firmly connected into the controller's audio jack.
    • Test if your headphones aren't broken by connecting it to another audio source, like a laptop or MP3 player.
Hopefully it's one of these things!
