Bring Kinect hand gesture back to Xbox One.

Let's make the most people possible to reply and support this post. More people means more chances every body will enjoy this genius feature that was removed after the Dashboard update... And well maybe they could reintegrate Kinect hand gestures. Also
the second request would be splitting Apps in half like 50% - 50% and of course being able to do that action with hand gesture would be just 2x better just like before remember ? So... 1 - Kinect hand gestures 2 - Split Apps in half  That's it that's

You're like one of those guys who still sends texts with his fingers.

So 2014.

They worked but they were a little bit cumbersome.

"Hey Cortana..." and so it shall be done.

Kinect is great but it's never really been great for Home Screen navigation and voice commands have made the need to flap ones arms about like a penguin redundant.

Not something that's needed in my opinion for the reasons above.

 

I thought the hand gestures were stupid.

Good riddance.

"Hey Cortana ......" isn't perfect but so much better.

 

Never used hand gestures as they seemed very unreliable on the odd occasion that I did try and use them. I still use the "old" Kinect voice commands and they work a treat for my own particular set of circumstances. I wouldn't hold your breath for them
to be reinstated.

 

That being said though we don't care for them there could be untold thousands who feel the same as you AliveFist.

There is a section of the Forums that allows you to put up suggestions for improvements and changes to the XBox ONE.

Just watch the horizon for a rainbow trail flowing from behind a flying Unicorn bearing Daft Badger: "Keeper of Links" with a thoughtful clickable link to the section you require.

 

^ there isn't when MS did away with them they said the reason for doing so was data that they collected showed that they were hardly ever used and the resources were better utilised elsewhere.

 

That sounds like them maintaining and updating the forums.

Maybe we all weren't coming up with the right ideas for improvements.

 

I rarely used it when it was around. Cortana xbox 1 is also not available in australia nor new zealand unless you change your local to US. Ive tried cortana and it is horrible. Microsoft is the biggest software company in the world yet google now and siri
on phones are far more superior digital personal assistants. Cortana is like speaking to someone at xbox support reading off a script. Cortana will get better... eventually.

 

Hand gestures for me were for putting on a tech demo to friends that came over; once it was seen and got the "That's pretty cool!"...They were never to be used again.

 

I found hand gestures to be the clunkiest, most useless interaction on the X1. Took so much longer for the thing to actually register my hand and respond to what I wanted that it wasn't worth the waste of time... and that's when it worked like it should.
Worse yet, half the time leaning forward to grab a drink or get something off the coffee table and the stupid thing thought I was initiating a hand gesture... then I almost had to hide my hand behind my back to get it to quit tracking. A few times, it even
thought my dog was my hand, just because it was lying beside me on the recliner and decided to get up and jump to the floor. My hand is not a 25lb Boston Terrier... not even close.

Constantly calibrating didn't help. I'm glad they got rid of it and I'd never ask for it back. Voice commands can have anything done before hand gestures even gets started. At least that's been my experience.

 

i had the same experience as A Blue Illusion, i have 2 Akitas and when they'd wag their tails in view of the Kinect, a hand would start bouncing around the screen, very annoying.

i won't use hand gestures again, but as long as they include the option to disable them, i don't care if they bring it back.

and if you want people to show their support, go to xbox.uservoice.com and make a post, or see if someone else already has. no one really visits the forums that works for MS, so this post does not help your movement.

 

Nooo Sir I do not agree. I was happy with hand gestures on a big screen maybe it is a better experience.(I use it with my projector) now they even removed snap mode.

 

Please bring back the hand gestures on the dashboard, we love it.. please let the feature works for the new consoles xbox one s and xbox one x.

We recommend to release an update on it, where it should be user friendly.. The people who love it can enable it and people who hate it can disable it.
